Our Leadership & Legacy

Atlas Surveying was founded in 2004 by Billy Gray, a Clemson University graduate and Registered Land Surveyor in SC, GA, NC, FL, KY, and AL. After more than a decade working for two engineering and surveying firms, Billy set out to build something different — a firm that prioritized smarter workflows, clear communication, and timely, accurate data.

More than just a technical expert, Billy built Atlas on values. He surrounded himself with professionals who shared his belief in doing things the right way. He gave them the tools and trust to grow. And he treated every client relationship with honesty and care.

That legacy lives on in everything we do.

In 2023, we lost our founder and friend. But Billy's vision remains at the core of Atlas Surveying. Under the leadership of his wife April and his son Dylan, our company continues to thrive — guided by the same ideals and driven to serve the evolving needs of builders, developers, contractors, engineers, land planners, and architects across the Southeast.
