Atlas Surveying, Inc. is an over 150+ person land surveying firm with offices in Savannah/Hilton Head, Charleston, Charlotte and Greenville/Spartanburg. We are aware that you can't keep great, motivated, career-oriented individuals without creating opportunities for them to continue to advance in their chosen profession. Therefore, not only are we looking to grow our current locations, we are examining Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Orlando, Atlanta and other markets to open offices. Our Leadership & Legacy

Billy Gray is the President of Atlas Surveying, Inc. He is a graduate of Clemson University and is a Registered Land Surveyor in SC, GA, NC, FL, KY & AL. After spending over 10 years working for two engineering & surveying companies, he created Atlas Surveying, Inc. in 2004. He believed that working smarter, communicating effectively, and providing accurate data in a timely manner would create the foundation to carve out a business in the surveying profession. In that time, he has built a staff that believes in those same ideals to respond to the growing needs for land surveying. His staff's accessibility and responsiveness has gained the trust of a variety of builders, developers, site contractors, engineers, land planners, and architects throughout our regions. Being a surveyor with the experience working at an engineering firm, Billy knows first hand what information is critical to the architectural, land planning, and civil design processes. That experience guides his staff to ask the right questions and provide the right answers. Teamwork is critical to the success of any project and effectively communicating facilitates that success. Setting the Standard

In the vast expanse of the ocean, at the exact coordinates of zero latitude and zero longitude, a solitary buoy floats—marking what is known as "Null Island," the theoretical point where the equator meets the prime meridian. The name, Atlas, was inspired by the iconic atlas map books that once guided travelers, explorers, and professionals across expansive territory—long before the digital age transformed how we navigate the world today. Inspired by the detail and immense value provided within these paper maps, Billy Gray, founder of Atlas Surveying, wanted to honor the tradition of accurate, dependable cartography while embracing modern technology. The name serves as a bridge between past and present, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering surveying services with the same trust and craftsmanship that once defined the original atlases, now evolved for a digital world.
