The Matadora Mixed-Use Development in Savannah, Georgia

The Matadora is a four-story, mixed-use development located in the heart of Savannah, Georgia’s historic Starland district. The 87,500 square-foot plaza consists of 81 apartment units, retail spaces, and 91,000 square-feet of covered parking.

The Matadora offers 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and live-work floor plans with private balconies and patios. All units are tech-enabled for energy-efficiency and include built-in work stations. Community amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, private yoga room, dry sauna, rooftop terrace with firepits, resident lounge, conference room, bike storage, dog wash station, and Amazon Hub.

Atlas Surveying’s Savannah/Hilton Head office was hired to perform surveying services for three phases of The Matadora’s construction.

Under contract to Bull Apartments, LLC, Atlas performed an ALTA survey. Contracted to Choate Construction Company, the project’s general contractor, Atlas established control, set benchmarks throughout the site, and staked grid lines, anchor bolts, transformer pad, back of curb, and centerline of columns. Hub and tack was provided for the dumpster pad. Final as-builts were performed and an ALTA survey and elevation certificate were delivered. Utility as-builts were provided to Eastern Excavating Company, Inc.

The Matadora was completed in 2021. Atlas Surveying was pleased to participate in construction of this exquisite development in our hometown of Savannah.
